Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Narlı, chairperson of Sociology Department of Bahçeşehir University, carries out important projects within the scope of women and political participation. Ms. Narlı aims to raise awareness in this field by emphasizing the importance of women through women’s studies and seminars organized within the university. In addition, she supports women students in terms of education and mentoring by including them in the study team. In addition to these works, BAU Graduate School of Business Committee Member Zehra Öney founded Women in Technology Platform (WTECH) to create awareness of such technologies within the woman business leaders in Turkey. With this platform, Zehra Öney aims to increase the number of curious and creative women in the field of technology, to enable girls to be interested in the technology sector and to support the research and development of young female students in this field. Moreover, the proportion of female students at our institute, which was 47% in the past years, has increased to 55% as of this year.
