Since the past 20 years, women have been rising in diplomacy with the promotion of female ambassadors reaching to 25-40% in some countries such as Sweden, Norway, Australia and the United States. Some countries such as the United Kingdom and Sweden but also Saudi Arabia started to send female ambassadors to Washington. These changes indicate that diplomacy, traditionally known for its male-dominant structure, has been opened for discussion and has entered a process of transformation. While examining the historical roles, advances, and strategies they have developed, this webinar discussed what kind of advantages and disadvantages female and male diplomats face in the new international relations system.
