The conference titled “Management of Migration: The Geopolitical Effects of Human Mobility on Development”, organized by the Global Policy Institute (GPI) – established in the United States capital Washington D.C., carrying out activities with a focus around Turkish-American relations and Turkey, was held with the participation of Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Enver Yücel.
The conference, where the consequences of world migrations on geopolitical crises around the world and on socioeconomic developments internationally were discussed in detail, took place with the involvements of Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Enver Yücel, Prof. Selçuk R. Şirin from New York University, Migration Policy Institutes Director Margie McHugh, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Executive Director Bill Canny and Syria Relief and Development Institute Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator Isra Chaker, along with many Turkish and American scholars and members of the press.
Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Enver Yücel, addressed the audience and touched upon the migration movements across the world with the words: “We not only witness the death of people and children in the sea during migration, but that of humanity as well. We advanced in technology, we got the world in the palm of or hands, we built roads and bridges; however we just couldn’t advance in humanity, welfare, respect and the culture of coexistence.”
