A world trademark for education in Turkey, BAU Global, added another circle to its educational network with BAU International University Batumi, following the establishments in Washington D.C. and Berlin. BAU who has become an internation trademark in terms of education with BAU International University Washington D.C. established in the capital of United States,Washington and BAU International Berlin University Of Applied Sciences established in the capital of Germany,Berlin added another circle to its educational network with BAU International University Batumi. In the 2015-2016 academic year BAU International University Batumi will welcome its first ever medical students and it will welcome university students from all around the world as well. BAU International University Batumi, who will stand as a foundation university throughout its being, will provide scholarships in different scales to succesful students.
BAU Batumi will accept students from abroad in its first year, from the next year on it will welcome students from Georgia, as well. 50 million dollars investment was made to BAU International University Batumi which also includes a hospital complex. 50 students will be accepted to the university holding capacity for 300 students. In the upcoming years with the new investments to be made in Georgia, faculties such as health sciences, dentistry and tourism will be opened.
THE CONCEPT OF UNIVERSITY HAS CHANGED IN TURKEY AND THE WORLD
President of BAU Global Executive Board Mr. Enver Yücel in the opening ceremony, said :” Throughout the day we established BAU, we have put a specific emphasis to our international relations. We have stated our students that the concept of university has changed both in Turkey and the world and the campus restricted education is insufficient and they need to interact and meet with new cultures. We have consolidated this approach by opening universities in strategically vital locations of the world. Recently we have made another international investment by establishing an independent university in Georgia,Batum which certificates its students in accordance to Georgian law. This is an open statement of Turkish vision and the courage of a Turkish enterpreneur to the entire world. We have the same excitement today in Batum as we had when we established our very first university in Istanbul. Our primary goal is to carry out similar investments to other countries”
TURKISH – GEORGIAN RELATIONS WILL BENEFIT FROM IT:
Rector of BAU International University Batumi Prof. Dr. İsmet Dindar stated that the university is acredited in accordance with Georgian State Law said: “Initially, our university will be a medical faculty. With its auditoriums, labratoires, an enriched library, administrative departments as a whole it is ready and the official language is English. In our university,where students from Turkey,Georgia and the rest of the world, we established a great and prestigious academic team. Our university will contribute to raise the level of higher education and medical education of Georgian universities by colloborating with higher education and other educational instituitons. On the other hand, in terms of Turkish-Georgian relationship, it will be a door opening for closer cooperation and interchange of information between Georgia and both its neighbours and long distance countries.
