The University Student Representative Elections according to the following schedule:It will be held in Programs and deparments. The term of office of the candidates that should be elected as a Student Representative will be 2(two) years.

The University Student Representative Elections according to the following schedule:It will be held in Programs and deparments. The term of office of the candidates that should be elected as a Student Representative will be 2(two) years. The information about the elections and conditions to be met by the candidate are listed below. Election Calendar27-28 October 2014 determine of candidates from Department/Program/Institute30-31 October – 03 November 2014 Campaign Period04-05-06 November 2014 Election Period10 November 2014 Determination and announcement of Representatives Elections Principles·        The elections will be held online on OİS system.·      

During the campaign, the inhibitory activities of daily living within the university will not be issued.

  •          Prepared posters, brochures, banners etc. materials cannot carry political content.
  •          These materials should handle and describes the works of candidates.
  •          During the campaign there will not regulations against the legislation and the introduction of the university.
  •          Presentation for promotion of the candidates in the course, will only be possible with the permission of the instructor.
  •          The promotions including in the electronic media ( social media )in or out of the campus during the promotional calendar, there won’t be any promotion without the approval of the Dean of Students.       
  •          If some candidates will offend each other, through social media of acquaintances or their own accounts to give messages containing slander is strictly prohibited. If it is determined the nominations of these student will be canceled.
  •          Promotional activities will be made between 08: 30-17: 30. ( Excluding Graduate Programs )
  •          The promotional activities of Graduate Program will be able to continue until 22: 00.

 

Qualifications required of Candidates for Student Representatives

  •          It has to be a student who completed at least two semi-annual and registered at Related Faculty, Vocational School, English Preparatory Program or the Institute ( for two half-year requirement in the preparatory program and the newly opened section of the first-year students are not sought  )
  •          Need to have a GPA of at least 2.00
  •          In the absence of a member or officer of a political party organs
  •          Not to have committed a crime that requiring removal from Higher Education Institutions
  •          Don’t exceed the maximum period of education

Not freezing of semester in the period of election 

The period of office of the Student Representative

Related Faculty, Institute of Vocational High School and selected representatives are elected for two years by an absolute majority of the participants.

Student Representative who lost his eligibility for any reason or resign before the expiration, until the next election date, a committee member substitutes that the representative is connected Institutions of Higher Education of the relevant Faculty, Vocational School or the Graduate Institute Student Representative Board, elected by them complete the time remaining to act.

Representative of the Faculty of Science officially ends after the Faculty of departments are distributed to other Faculties. Authority of  the Faculty representative about the decisions taken before the operation is complete. It’s not open for discussion.

Further;

Double Major Program Students can’t be a candidate in double major programs.

Student Representation and related tasks, following the election period continues until the election results to be announced by the Rector.
