"Talkative Women Summit" Held at Bahçeşehir University
Anıl Alirıza Şohoğlu, Chair of the Board of the Turkish Young Businessmen's Association (TÜGİAD), stated that the number of women entrepreneurs in Türkiye is 110,000 and said: "When we double this figure, our country's Gross National Product (GNP) will increase directly by 20 percent in 2025. Whatever happens, if women are not part of social and economic life, if there is no equality, you will have to give up your dreams of development."
The "Talkative Women Summit", organized in collaboration with the TÜGİAD Women Leaders Commission and the BAU LIFE Student Club and sponsored by TÜGİAD, was held at the Bahçeşehir University Beşiktaş South Campus.
In his speech at the summit, TÜGİAD Chair Anıl Alirıza Şohoğlu provided information about TÜGİAD's activities.
Recalling Türkiye's 11th Development Plan and stating that it is a very successful program in terms of content, Şohoğlu said:
"But today, if you want to develop, you need to give importance to art, sports, education and planning. It would not be right to say that a country that does not give importance to these develops through economic data alone. In addition to all this, the indispensable condition for development is that individuals have equal power in every area of society. Today, the number of women entrepreneurs in Türkiye is 110,000.
When we double this figure, our country's GNP will increase directly by 20 percent in 2025. Whatever happens, if women are not part of social and economic life, if there is no equality, you will have to give up your dreams of development. Everything in the world is the work of women; we must stand up for women and their work."
In his speech, Bahçeşehir University Vice President Prof. Dr. Tunç Bozbura pointed to the benefits for society and individuals of women being present in every area of life, and shared memories of the women in his own life, such as his grandmothers, their stance in life and what they gave him.
- "Men are the reason women talk a lot"
Theater artist and actor Ali Sunal drew attention to the fact that men are the reason women talk a lot, making the following remarks:
"Women talk a lot because men do not listen; even if we pretend to listen, we do not listen, or we listen with one ear. And women repeat what they know to be right over and over, trying to explain it to men. Men are the reason women talk a lot.
When it comes to gender equality, there is inequality throughout the world. If women are the iPhone 11, men are the iPhone 7; let us accept it, women are the superior model. That is why, if the two were equal and had the same market share, everyone would go for the iPhone 11. So, because men know their own shortcomings, they do not give women much room. There can be no other reason. The moment women and men are equal, women will run the world, and that does not suit men."
