10th Year of the Bahçeşehir University Architecture Japan Summer School!
The ICSA in Japan summer school program has been held in Japan since 2009, hosted by Mukogawa University and under a scholarship it provides, with the participation of 10 Bahçeşehir University students. The program aims to give students the chance to experience a studio environment on site in a different country, within entirely new architectural settings outside a conventional working environment. The studio work concludes with a jury and an exhibition.
Another important priority of the organization is to create opportunities that help students grasp the culture more quickly by organizing trips and social activities in addition to the work at school during the 6 weeks spent in Japan. In this context, technical trips to Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Tokyo and Hiroshima include visits to important examples of traditional Japanese architecture, while also allowing students to see the designs of world-famous Japanese architects on site and in context.
The tenth edition of the program began on 30 June 2019 and will continue until 3 August 2019.
