Scientific Cooperation Activity in Italy on Eating Disorders by Our Department of Nutrition and Dietetics

A student delegation from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Health Sciences traveled to Italy and visited Apuane Hospital in Massa and the city hospital in Carrara. The event, organized by the BAU International Rome Francesca de Palo Academy, was attended by hospital manager Giuliano Biselli, scientific supervisor Angiolo Tagliagambe, the Radioterapia dell'Azienda USL Toscana surgical unit and many professors. Among the professors were Head of the Endoscopy Department Iginio dell'Amico, Head of the Diabetes Department Giovanna Gregori, Giulia Manfredini from the Endocrinology Department, Anna Trabucchi from Parenteral Nutrition, and Mirko Lombardi and Maurizio Durno from the Surgical Unit. During the visit, our students were informed about how specialists can offer nutrition-related solutions for specific pathologies and about nutrition-related diseases.

The program will continue next week at the Madre Cabrini DCA Institute in Pontremoli, which carries out important work on eating disorders. These initiatives are part of a scientific cooperation project on individual nutrition. The program also covers the sharing of various materials and resources between Apuane Hospital and Bahçeşehir University, as well as lectures by specialists.
