Applications Open for the Local Governments Academy 10 Certificate Program
Established within Bahçeşehir University, the School of Government and Leadership aims to train the leaders of the future and inform its participants about important issues in today's world through the programs it organizes as well as the projects and seminars it prepares. Having made it its mission to bring qualified individuals to every level of politics and decision-making mechanisms, the School of Government and Leadership has added the field of local governments to its scope with the Local Governments Academy certificate program. The Local Governments Academy certificate program has been planned to be held regularly every academic year since the 2010-2011 Academic Year. In the 2019-2020 Academic Year, our Local Governments Academy program will take place on Saturdays between 5 October and 9 November 2019.
Program Objective:
In recent years, there has been positive progress in the understanding of Public Administration in our country, and this new understanding is supported by structural changes. The School of Government and Leadership welcomes this change and attaches great importance to the efficiency of local governments, the main artery of national development. It is a fact that education is the most effective way to keep up with change. With the conviction that continuous education is essential at a time when knowledge changes and is produced rapidly, this certificate program is intended to be implemented regularly every academic year.
The purpose of the Local Governments Academy certificate program is to equip staff working in local governments, as well as students and individuals who wish to work in local governments, through the training provided, and to enhance participants' personal and professional knowledge.
Program Features:
The Local Governments Academy certificate program is held every Saturday between 10:00 and 16:45 for six weeks. The language of the program is Turkish. Each week, the program features four different sessions with guest bureaucrats who have served at senior levels of local government, academics and mayors. After each session, participants' questions and views on the topic are taken and evaluated by the guests. Participants who successfully complete the program receive a certificate. Participants must attend 80% of the program to be eligible for a certificate. The program takes place at Bahçeşehir University's Beşiktaş main campus.
