The number of Local Prevention and Security Boards (YÖGK), established as pilots in Phases I and II of the Strengthening Civilian Oversight of the Internal Security Sector Project carried out by UNDP with the Ministry of Interior as its main beneficiary, was increased to 19 in Phase III of the project. The aim of the boards is to develop and implement preventive action plans for local security problems jointly with law enforcement agencies, relevant public institutions, non-governmental organizations and members of the media. In this context, with the recommendations set out in the project reports and the decision of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Provincial Administration, it was decided to establish a YÖGK in the Beşiktaş district. As part of the project, on 27-28 September 2021, at the Feriye Palace in Istanbul, the Beşiktaş Experience Sharing Workshopwas held. At the workshop's panel held on 27 September 2021, "The Effects of Civil Participation in Crime Prevention on Quality of Life", Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Narlı, Head of the Department of Sociology at Bahçeşehir University, took part with her talk titled "Security Problems in Cities and Their Effects on Quality of Life". 

 

• TUREGAST and Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Koç took part as speakers at the 1st TUREGAST Seminar.

• The event "History Talks: Migrations from the Caucasus and the Circassian Diaspora", with Prof. Dr. Ulaş Sunata as a speaker, was held.

• A special 8 March program was held with the participation of BAUMUS, the Sustainability Steps Association, the Konuşmamız Gerek Association, the Open Space Association and the Deep Poverty Network.

• The "Women in Pandemic Life" webinar was organized jointly by BAUMUS and the Equality Monitoring Women's Group.

• A talk by Dr. Ahmet Aydemir with Açı School students was held.

• Child, early and forced marriages were discussed at a joint event of the United Nations Türkiye, CIFAL Istanbul, UNITAR and Bahçeşehir University.

• Food and Agriculture Training Seminars were held in collaboration with UNITAR, FAO and Bahçeşehir University.

• The event "21st Century Reset: Sustainable Recovery Post COVID-19", in which the post-COVID-19 recovery process was discussed, was held in collaboration with FAO.
