SOBİD Project 2nd Professional Development Program

The second professional development program of the SOBİD project, "Designing and Implementing a Climate Change Teaching Module with a Socioscientific Issue-Based Teaching Approach," carried out within the scope of the 3501 Career Development Program supported by TÜBİTAK, was completed online.

On the first day of the SOBİD Project's second professional development program, the five-day program was introduced, and experiences were shared on the strengths of teachers' lesson plan implementations and the challenges encountered.

On the second day of the program, work was carried out to identify the changes needed in the lesson plans implemented in class, based on feedback from teachers.

On the third day of the program, group work was organized to make, together with the teachers, the changes identified in the lesson plans during the design phase.

  

In the last two days of the SOBİD Project's second professional development program, information was given on the overall status of the project and the analysis of the pilot data was summarized. In the following sessions, the challenges of the first implementation were discussed first in theme groups and then with the whole group.

After the revisions of the lesson plans were completed, the thematic groups presented their own lesson plans to one another again. After the lesson plans were shared, the details of the second round of classroom implementations were discussed, and the sessions concluded with answers to teachers' questions.
