A Breeze of World Music at BAU Conservatory

Prominent Indian musicians Shrikant Rao (tabla) and Shipra Dhawan (sitar) met with our conservatory students and faculty members at BAU Conservatory for a seminar titled Introduction to Hindustani Music: Tabla and Sitar Workshop. In this session, which offered comprehensive content on the deep meanings and practices of Indian music, participants also had the opportunity to play the tabla and sitar. At the event, where ideas were exchanged on the interaction between Indian music and Turkish music in the context of world music, it was observed that our students are highly interested in world music. The artists, who received information from our faculty members about our education and training processes, expressed that they were very pleased with our students' interest.
