Young Animators Trained Through MEB-BAU Collaboration

Animation, an interdisciplinary, inclusive, fun and important form of art and communication, is becoming a training program for young people aged 14 to 18. To help young people discover animation, which spans a rich and fertile field including visual and audio arts, scriptwriting, analog and digital technologies and storytelling, at an earlier age, the "Animation Camp" is being launched in collaboration between the Ministry of National Education and Bahçeşehir University, coordinated by the General Directorate of Secondary Education.

The program design and production of "Animation Camp", with episodes of 20 to 30 minutes each to be broadcast on the TRT EBA TV High School channel as part of the summer camp programs and TRT EBA TV Art programs, are undertaken by Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation Prof. Dr. Nazlı Eda Noyan, while it is directed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Erkan Büker of the Department of Cinema and Television.

Designed to introduce young people to animation in all its components with valuable names from the field, to encourage them and to help them gain skills by providing basic knowledge and practice, the camp's entire curriculum, filming, editing and other production processes are carried out within our faculty.

Basics of Animation

The packed program, in which Prof. Dr. Nazlı Eda Noyan will cover the history and importance of animation, Prof. Nam Kook Lee animation toys and animation principles, Ilgın Saçan the 12 basic principles of animation, scriptwriters and educators Selçuk Akman and Arzu Yurtseven scriptwriting for animation, artist Korkut Akaçık visualizing ideas and drawing, Emre Şan VFX, Onurcan Çaylı 3D character design, Natali Yeres set design, Yeşim Aktaş animation production, Jochen Proehl photography, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korkut Mehmet Öztekin the history, genres and practice of comics, Ozan Baysal music, Arman Şernaz 3D animation tools and Meryem Yavuz cinematography, will be on air on the TRT EBA TV High School channel throughout the summer, not only for young people but for everyone interested in animation.
