A Major Collaboration in the Heart of Istanbul

A Major Collaboration in the Heart of Istanbul

With the agreement signed between Bahçeşehir University, which launched its Pilot Training undergraduate program last year and is home to more than 25,000 students, and AFA-Atlantik Flight Academy, BAU Pilot Training students are starting their training at Atlantik Flight Academy, the only flight academy in Türkiye with a single-type and the youngest training aircraft fleet. BAU Pilot Training students, who will start their flight training with brand-new, high-tech Glass Cockpit concept aircraft manufactured by Diamond Aircraft, will continue their training at Tekirdağ Çorlu Atatürk Airport and Balıkesir Edremit Koca Seyit Airport.

Founded with the slogan "A World University in the Heart of Istanbul", Bahçeşehir University has 9 faculties, 4 graduate schools, 2 schools and 2 vocational schools. Also a member of the BAU Global Education Network, Bahçeşehir University is preparing to offer new opportunities, through different projects within this collaboration, to young people who want to become pilots, with innovations in pilot training in the heart of Istanbul.

A solution partner for the pilot training programs of Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines since its foundation, AFA has brought many trained professionals to aviation and currently continues its training with brand-new aircraft manufactured by Diamond Aircraft, state-of-the-art ALSIM simulators and a young and dynamic team, operating 4 Diamond DA40-NG, 15 Diamond DA20-C1 and 3 Diamond DA42-NG aircraft. Adding 1 Diamond DA40-NG and 2 Diamond DA20-C1 aircraft to its fleet by the end of 2020, AFA will continue to expand its fleet by the end of 2021 with 3 more brand-new Diamond Aircraft aircraft featuring the latest-technology cockpit concept.

Thanks to this major collaboration in the heart of Istanbul, combining BAU's academic experience with AFA's dynamism, a door to aviation has opened not only for Pilot Training undergraduate students but also for other students studying at BAU. In addition to the training offered in our country today, effective and dynamic pilot training programs will come to the fore and contribute to pilot training processes as global demand grows.

As a result of this collaboration between a World University in the Heart of Istanbul and Türkiye's most dynamic flight school, BAU and AFA will carry out major projects with a shared belief.
