Important Information on VAT Rates Applicable to Tuition Fees

Dear Students,

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette dated 30 August 2020 and numbered 31229, the Value Added Tax rate for educational services provided by universities and colleges between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021 has been reduced from 8% to 1%, and as of 31 August 2020, the Value Added Tax rate for all tuition fees collected and to be collected by our university for this period has been updated to 1%.

Accordingly, for students who fulfilled all their payment obligations for the 2020-2021 academic year before 30 August 2020, refunds of the Value Added Tax difference calculated on the tuition fees collected will be made by 30 September 2020, according to the payment method.

To initiate the refund process, after logging in to http://st.bau.edu.tr/ , you can submit your Bank Name / Account Holder's Name and Surname / IBAN numbervia the /report a problem/financial affairs/VAT refund request section.
