Announcement on Transfer Processes Between Thesis and Non-Thesis Programs

INFORMATION NOTICE ON TRANSFER PROCESSES BETWEEN THESIS AND NON-THESIS PROGRAMS

Within the scope of the Bahçeşehir University Graduate Education and Training Regulations, detailed information on transfer processes between thesis and non-thesis programs, including important dates and transfer requirements, is provided below.

2. Requirements for Transfer from Thesis to Non-Thesis Programs

• To transfer at the end of the first (1st) semester, students must have completed at least 2 credit courses in the thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• Students wishing to transfer at the end of the second (2nd) semester must have completed at least 6 credit courses.
• Transfer applications cannot be made in the third (3rd) semester.
• Transfers are made within the available quota, based on a ranking by cumulative grade point average.
• The "Courses Requested for Exemption" section of the transfer form will be completed by the Program Coordinator.
• Applications must be submitted in person, and transfer forms must be delivered with original signatures to the Student Affairs Unit of the Graduate School.
• Students residing abroad or outside the city may send their wet-signed transfer forms in PDF format by email to selen.ekinci@bau.edu.tr or gunay.korucu@bau.edu.tr.
• Transfers between programs are subject to additional fees, and the payment amounts are determined according to the number of courses to be taken.

An ALES certificate is required only for transfers to thesis programs.

3. Requirements for Transfer from Non-Thesis to Thesis Programs

• To transfer at the end of the first (1st) semester, students must have successfully completed at least 1 credit course in the non-thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• To transfer at the end of the second (2nd) semester, students must have successfully completed at least 1 credit course in the non-thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• Transfer applications cannot be made in the third (3rd) semester.
• A minimum score of 55 in the relevant ALES score type is required.
• The ALES score is valid for 5 years.
• The "Courses Requested for Exemption" section of the transfer form will be completed by the Program Coordinator.
• Applications must be submitted in person, and transfer forms must be delivered with wet signatures to the Student Affairs Unit of the Graduate School.
• Students residing abroad or outside the city may send their signed transfer forms in PDF format by email to selen.ekinci@bau.edu.tr or gunay.korucu@bau.edu.tr.
• Transfers to thesis programs are not possible from non-thesis programs that have no thesis counterpart or from Distance Education programs.
• The ranking within the quota will be calculated as 50% cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and 50% ALES score.
• Transfers between programs are subject to additional fees, and the payment amounts are determined according to the number of courses to be taken.
