2023-2024 Spring Semester Transfer Calendar Between Thesis and Non-Thesis Programs

Conditions for Transfer from Thesis to Non-Thesis Programs

• To transfer at the end of the 1st semester, students must have completed at least 2 credit courses in the thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• Students wishing to transfer at the end of the 2nd semester must have completed at least 6 credit courses.
• Transfer applications cannot be made in the 3rd semester.
• Ranking is made by cumulative grade point average within the quota.

• The "Courses Requested for Exemption" section of the transfer form will be completed by the Program Coordinator.
• Applications will be received in person, and transfer forms must be submitted with wet signatures to Berna GÜLER GÖKDERE. Students residing abroad or outside the city may send their (signed) transfer forms in PDF format by e-mail to gulnaz.tekin@bau.edu.tr .
• Transfers between programs are charged separately, and payment amounts are determined by the number of courses to be taken.
• The ALES certificate is valid only for transfers to thesis programs.

Conditions for Transfer from Non-Thesis to Thesis Programs

• To transfer at the end of the 1st semester, students must have successfully completed at least 1 credit course in the non-thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• To transfer at the end of the 2nd semester, students must have successfully completed at least 1 credit course in the non-thesis master's program in which they are enrolled.
• Transfer applications cannot be made in the 3rd semester.
• Students must obtain a score of at least 55 in the relevant score type of ALES.
  • The ALES score is valid for 5 years.

• Transfers to thesis programs are not possible from non-thesis programs without a thesis counterpart or from Distance Education programs.
• The ranking criteria to be applied according to the quota are given in the table below.
