Applications for the "International Researcher Programs", launched by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to encourage doctoral students and researchers to conduct research at international standards at leading universities around the world, will open onMonday, 4 March 2024.
Within the scope of the "International Researcher Programs" launched by the Council of Higher Education to encourage doctoral students and researchers to conduct research at international standards at leading universities around the world,
- applications have opened for the following programs: the program for sending up to 100 doctoral students employed as Research Assistants abroad to conduct research on their dissertation topics without field restrictions,Young Minds Program (GEP),
Application Requirements:
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye and currently employed as a research assistant at a state higher education institution,
- Having advanced to the dissertation stage of doctoral studies in priority fields determined by YÖK,
- Documenting a score of at least 75 in the language of the study from YÖKDİL, YDS, E-YDS or an international foreign language exam whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM, taken within the last 3 years,
- For male candidates, having no military service obligation (having completed, deferred or being eligible to defer military service),
- Having started doctoral studies within the last three years as of the application date,
- Obtaining an invitation letter to conduct academic work for at least one and at most three months, in fields to be determined by the Council of Higher Education, from a university ranked in the top 700 within the last 3 (three) years in the world university rankings by University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), Times Higher Education (THE), Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai) and World University Rankings (QS).
- The program for sending up to 100 Research Assistants or Assistant Professors who have completed their doctoral studies abroad for postdoctoral work without field restrictions,Postdoctoral Research Program (DOSAP),
Application Requirements:
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye and currently employed at a state higher education institution as a Research Assistant or Assistant Professor who has completed doctoral studies,
- Having received the doctoral degree within the last 3 years as of the application date,
- Documenting a score of at least 80 in the language of the study from YÖKDİL, YDS, E-YDS or an international foreign language exam whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM, taken within the last 3 years,
- For male candidates, having no military service obligation (having completed, deferred or being eligible to defer military service),
- Obtaining an invitation letter to conduct academic work for a maximum of nine months, in fields to be determined by the Council of Higher Education, from a university ranked in the top 700 within the last 3 (three) years in the world university rankings by University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), Times Higher Education (THE), Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai) and World University Rankings (QS).
- and the program for sending up to 200 faculty members abroad within the scope of academic leave (sabbatical) to conduct research in the priority fields of the 12th Development Plan listed below,Academic Accumulation Program (AKAP).
Application Requirements:
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye and currently employed as a faculty member at a state higher education institution,
- Being within a paid leave period under additional Article 33 of Law No. 2547,
- Documenting a score of at least 80 in the language of the study from YÖKDİL, YDS, E-YDS or an international foreign language exam whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM, taken within the last 3 years,
- Obtaining an invitation letter with "Visiting Researcher" or equivalent status to conduct academic work for a maximum of nine months in the priority fields of the 12th Development Plan, from a university ranked in the top 700 within the last 3 (three) years in the world university rankings by University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), Times Higher Education (THE), Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai) and World University Rankings (QS).

- Chemistry
- Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices
- Electronics
- Machinery
- Electrical Equipment
- Automotive
- Rail System Vehicles
Priority Development Areas in the 12th Development Plan:
- Agriculture and Food
- Energy
- Defense Industry
- Tourism
Researchers who wish to apply must,between Monday, 4 March 2024 and Friday, 26 April 2024 at 17:00,https://yoksis.yok.gov.tr/log in at the address above and apply through theGeneral Procedures → YÖK Scholarships and Supportsmenu.
Accordingly:
- The documents uploaded to the system by applicants (research report and acceptance letter) will be evaluated by the relevant university,
- Applications found to meet the requirements must be approved by our universities via YÖKSİSbetween 26 April and 10 May 2024,
- For the applications they approve, universities must submit the relevant senate or university executive board decision, attached to a cover letter from the Office of the President, to our Presidency by24 May 2024.
