International Artificial Intelligence Summit at Bahçeşehir University
Global AI authorities to discuss the future at an international summit at BAU
How artificial intelligence, the technology that has defined recent years, will shape the future of the world will be discussed at the International Artificial Intelligence Summit, hosted by Bahçeşehir University (BAU) in Istanbul.
Leading authorities and expert academics in artificial intelligence, a technology whose impact is felt in almost every field worldwide, from the defense industry to agriculture and from education to finance, and which Edward Fredkin, one of the directors of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Computer Science Laboratory, described as the third greatest event after the creation of the universe and the origin of life, will come together at the summit to be held in Istanbul on 16-17 April. At the Future AI Summit 24, hosted by Bahçeşehir University's (BAU) technology and entrepreneurship center Future Campus in Kemerburgaz, the future of artificial intelligence will be examined, while more than 50 companies, including Intel, Adobe, Huawei and Microsoft, will open exhibition stands. At the summit, which will bring together nearly 120 entrepreneurs and academics, United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary-General Nikhil Seth, TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal, Beşiktaş JK President Hasan Arat, Beşiktaş JK Second President Hüseyin Yücel and BAU Global Chairman Enver Yücel will also deliver speeches. Start-ups, new entrepreneurs developing sectoral solutions through technology, will also have the opportunity to present themselves at the summit. Around 3,000 participants are expected to attend the summit, which will feature 65 talks across 45 sessions.
NEW PRODUCTS TO BE INTRODUCED
At the summit, which will also host promotional stands of sponsor companies, several brands will introduce their new products. Through panels, symposiums, interactive experience areas, brand collaborations, entrepreneur-investor connections and interactive spaces, the summit will offer participants a unique experience.
OPENING SPEECH TO BE DELIVERED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The summit, one of the most important and comprehensive artificial intelligence events in Türkiye and the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, will feature Prof. Dr. Leonard Lane from the University of California, Prof. Dr. Garry Jacobs from the World Academy of Art and Science, Microsoft Türkiye General Manager Levent Özbilgin, IBM Master Inventor Neil Sahota, Google Türkiye CMO Serkan Girgin and Amazon senior executive Tony Lteif. Academics who have achieved success in artificial intelligence in Türkiye will also speak, and the opening speech of the summit will be delivered by artificial intelligence.
SECTORS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
At the summit, where academics and experts will give presentations and briefings on the future of artificial intelligence, the use of artificial intelligence and its projected future in education, healthcare, finance, marketing, engineering, software, agriculture, the defense industry, creative industries, manufacturing and logistics will be discussed under the theme "AI Transformation Across Sectors". The summit will also address the societal and regulatory aspects of rapidly developing technology, as well as the contributions of artificial intelligence to start-ups.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CONTRIBUTES TO LAW
Dean of the BAU Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Kadir Emre Gökyayla said that the Artificial Intelligence Summit points to an important process of transformation and development in the field of law. Noting that the growing impact of artificial intelligence technology has brought about various changes and opportunities in the legal world, Gökyayla said: "This summit aims to enhance the knowledge and experience of professionals by addressing the applications and impacts of artificial intelligence in law. Artificial intelligence makes significant contributions to the legal field with its information processing, analysis and prediction capabilities. This summit will shed light on what can be done to introduce the new approaches and solutions that artificial intelligence technology can offer the legal world, to make law more efficient and accessible, and on its future."
HELPING TO DIAGNOSE PATIENTS FASTER
Pointing out that artificial intelligence applications have brought significant advances in many areas of the healthcare sector, from diagnosis to treatment and from epidemiological studies to patient monitoring, Dean of the BAU Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç said that these technologies have great potential in processing and analyzing medical data, early diagnosis of diseases, developing personalized treatment methods and improving healthcare services in general. Kılıç said: "By identifying complex information and relationships in large datasets, artificial intelligence is opening new doors in medical research and practice. For example, in cancer diagnosis and treatment, AI-supported systems can analyze tumor images and help make diagnoses faster and more accurately. At the same time, it enables the development of treatment methods tailored to each individual using patients' genetic information and lifestyle data. As Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine, we are carrying out work to raise awareness and promote best practices in these areas."
THE COMMUNICATION INDUSTRY IS TRANSFORMING WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Dean of the BAU Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Kemal Suher also said that the communication industry is undergoing a major transformation thanks to the tools provided by artificial intelligence. Suher said: "AI-based chatbots are making customer service and support processes more effective and efficient through automation, while language processing technologies are facilitating multilingual and intercultural communication. The impact of artificial intelligence on the creative industries is also significant. Artificial intelligence contributes to creative processes across a wide spectrum, from music to art and from literature to film production, and enables the creation of new works. In this sense, the Future AI Summit offers a unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of how these technologies work, how they can be integrated into industries, and their ethical, social and economic impacts. I wish all participants a successful and productive summit in advance."
