İLAD Accreditation of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity Extended to 5 Years

The accreditation of our Department of Public Relations and Publicity, the first department in Türkiye to earn accreditation, has been extended to 5 years by İLAD (Communication Research Association) and İLEDAK (Communication Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board), the bodies designated by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) as authorized to conduct external evaluations and grant accreditation certificates in the field of communication.

Türkiye's First Accredited Department

On 1 March 2019, at a ceremony held at our university, the accreditation certificate of the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Communication Public Relations Program, valid until 2021, was presented by İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz to Prof. Dr. Kemal Suher. The ceremony was attended by İLEDAK President Prof. Dr. Halil Nalçaoğlu, İLAD Secretary General Füsun Özbilgen, Bahçeşehir University Vice President Prof. Dr. Tunç Bozbura, Head of the Department of Public Relations Prof. Dr. İdil Karademirlidağ Suher, members of the Faculty of Communication and accreditation representatives.

This first Accreditation Certificate granted by the Communication Research Association (İLAD) was awarded at the end of a one-year evaluation process. Following the decisions taken by İLEDAK, İLAD has now reviewed and approved the accreditation of our department, which was found to meet the standards in many different criteria such as the curriculum and its objectives, outcomes and continuous improvement, until 1 March 2024.
