BAU Sports Academy: Experiences from the Field Symposium

Dear students, esteemed academics and sports professionals,

We respectfully greet you all on behalf of Bahçeşehir University. Today, we are excited and proud to open the BAU Sports Academy: Experiences from the Field Symposium, which brings together the most important components of the sports world.

Sport is not only an arena of competition but also a journey of discovering the limits of the human body, increasing endurance and developing in harmony with science. On this journey, it is of great importance for athletes to take their performance to the highest level, to be protected from injuries and to have access to the best treatment methods. This is exactly where the shared knowledge and experience of physicians, physiotherapists, coaches and academics play a critical role.

Today, we are together with internationally recognized doctors, physiotherapists, sports scientists and elite athletes in their fields. Their years of field experience, combined with their scientific perspectives, will inspire young generations and present us with the latest developments in sports health.

We will share knowledge across a wide range of topics, from the prevention of sports injuries to rehabilitation processes, and from performance-enhancing scientific approaches to strategies for protecting athlete health at the highest level. Let us not forget that a healthy athlete is a successful athlete. By combining sports sciences with medicine, we aim to stand by athletes not only on the field but also throughout their lifelong health journey.

We hope that this symposium, in addition to the exchange of knowledge, will give rise to new collaborations, allow new ideas to flourish and help us take stronger steps in the field of athlete health.

We thank you all for your participation and wish you a productive and inspiring symposium.

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Gökay GÖRMELİ & Assist. Prof. Dr. Pelin PİŞİRİCİ
