The Play "If This Were a Film" Takes the Stage
"If This Were a Film", a story about the breakup of Yugoslavia after 1990 and the process by which the peoples of that country grew apart, is being staged. Peoples who had lived together in harmony for years in the heart of Europe are dragged into chaos during this process, provoked by certain international powers.
Directed by BAU Conservatory Lecturer Serkan Üstüner and performed by BAU Conservatory undergraduate and graduate students, the play will be staged at the BAU Conservatory Pera Campus and BlackBox.
Through the relationships within a small family, the play tells, with a sensitive and powerful stage language, how ethnic, religious and cultural exclusion paves the way for tensions and for irreversible pain and ruptures.
