We Invite Leading Researchers Abroad to BAU

The TÜBİTAK 2232 - International Leading Researchers Program Call is now open for applications!

We invite qualified researchers with work experience abroad, Turkish scientists in particular, who stand out in their fields with high-level scientific and technological work, to develop their projects under the BAU roof in order to contribute to fields of strategic value for Türkiye.

Within the scope of the program, we look forward to encouraging qualified researchers, Turkish scientists in particular, who have distinguished themselves through high-level scientific and/or technological work in their fields and who have work experience abroad, to come to Türkiye from abroad to contribute to projects in fields of strategic value for our country, and to carry out their work at Bahçeşehir University.

What are the support elements of the TÜBİTAK 2232 Program?

Scope of Support:

• Fellowship for the Principal Investigator,
• Family living allowance for the principal investigator's spouse or children, if any,
• Research start-up package allowance,
• Research project support,
• Support for building a research team (fellowship costs of 5 doctoral students to be included in the research team for the research to be conducted in Türkiye),
• Project Incentive Bonus for researchers in the project,
• Institutional Share/Overhead for the host institution/organization,
• Health insurance support for the principal investigator and their spouse and children,
• Travel support for the principal investigator and their spouse and children,
• Mentoring Support.

Of the fellows in the project team, up to two may be graduate students and one may be a postdoctoral researcher. 

In addition to TÜBİTAK support, Bahçeşehir University will offer the following opportunities to researchers supported under the program:

• Funding for scientific research projects under 10 different fund types, including procurement of materials, software and services,
• Scientific publication incentives,
• Intellectual property incentives,
• Technology Transfer Office support and services (national and international funding, university-industry collaborations, IP licensing),
• BAU Hub entrepreneurship programs and commercialization services,
• Open access to one of Türkiye's leading digital library and database resources,
• University-industry collaboration opportunities within BAU Technopark (government approval process ongoing)
