TÜBİTAK BİDEB 2218 Domestic Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program 2021 First Call Announced!

The 2021 first call of the 2218 Domestic Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program, run by the TÜBİTAK Directorate of Science Fellowships and Grant Programs, opened for applications on 4 May 2021.

Within the scope of the program, in order to contribute to our country's science-based knowledge and technology production and to the development of the qualified human resources needed for it, support will be provided to researchers who hold, or will hold, a doctoral degree, a specialization degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine, or a proficiency in art degree, so that they can carry out their postdoctoral work in Türkiye at state or foundation higher education institutions, research infrastructures qualified under Law No. 6550, public research institutes, private sector organizations with R&D or design centers, or capital companies based in Türkiye operating within technoparks.

Scope of Support:

The support provided under this program is as follows.

+ Research fellowship (Full Fellowship: 6,000 TL/month, Partial Fellowship: 1,600 TL),

+ Research support (up to 60,000 TL),

+ Advisor fee: 1,000 TL / Reporting Period.

Within the scope of the program, researchers may also benefit from the following activities under the programs and conditions specified in the Provisions on Additional Support section.

+ Support for participation in national and international scientific events,

+ Scientific training event support.

In addition to TÜBİTAK support, Bahçeşehir University will offer the following opportunities to researchers supported under the program:

+ Employment opportunities at research centers after the TÜBİTAK fellowship,

+ Publication and patent incentives,

+ Opportunity to benefit from BAP (Scientific Research Projects) support,

+ Opportunity to attend 1 online training for career development,

+ Support for participation in an international scientific conference (once)

+ Support for applications to TÜBİTAK BİDEB Fellowship, Competition and Olympiad programs,

+ Support for inclusion as a researcher/fellow in TÜBİTAK-supported projects,

+ Support for applying as principal investigator in TÜBİTAK-supported projects (1002, 1005, etc.),

+ Private insurance (50% support),

+ Laptop.

Application Requirements:

8) Being a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye or a Blue Card holder as defined in Law No. 5901,

9) Applying within 7 years* of the date of obtaining the doctoral degree, the specialization degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine, or the proficiency in art degree, or obtaining the relevant degree within 12 months of the date of being awarded support,

10) Conducting the research at an institution/organization based in Türkiye that is different from the institution/organization where the doctoral degree, specialization degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine, or proficiency in art degree was obtained.**

11) If employed with pay at an organization, not conducting the postdoctoral/post-specialization research at that organization,

12) Being invited by the highest authority of the organization where the research will be conducted,

13) Having a minimum total score of 7 points or more as of the application date according to the criteria in the Application Criteria Table (https://www.tubitak.gov.tr/tr/burslar/doktora-sonrasi/burs-programlari/2218/icerik-kimler-basvurabilir),

14) Not having been dismissed from the profession, public service or the organization of the relevant institutions directly by Decree-Laws enacted under the state of emergency or within the framework of the procedures stipulated in those Decree-Laws,

*If female researchers take leave due to childbirth within the specified period, one year will be added to this period for each birth, provided that a document relating to the birth or an identity document of the child is submitted at the application stage.

**If the organization where the person will conduct research is a new university established by the division of the university where the doctoral degree was obtained pursuant to "Law No. 7141 on Amendments to the Higher Education Law and Certain Laws and Decree-Laws," applications to this program cannot be made if the department where the doctoral degree was obtained is the same as the department where the research will be conducted at the divided university.

Support period: as approved by TÜBİTAK, a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 24 months.
