Collaboration Between BAU Faculty of Law and Ökten Law Firm

The collaboration between the BAU Faculty of Law and Ökten Law Firm officially began with the "Mediation Training" meeting held on 28 April 2023. The meeting took place at the BAU Faculty of Law between 15:00 and 19:00, and many distinguished legal professionals attended the training.

Distinguished legal professionals attending the meeting included BAU Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Emre Gökyayla, Founding and Managing Attorney of Ökten Law Firm and Vice Chair of Ökten Group of Companies Att. Emin Ökten, Prof. Dr. Feridun Yenisey, Att. Arb. Turgay Bilge, Att. Arb. İhsan Berkhan, Prof. Dr. Ertan Demirkapı and Att. Arb. Murat Demirkan.

The opening speeches of the meeting were delivered by BAU Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Emre Gökyayla and Founding and Managing Attorney of Ökten Law Firm and Vice Chair of Ökten Group of Companies Att. Emin Ökten. Att. Emin Ökten then gave a talk on "The Philosophy of Mediation". Prof. Dr. Feridun Yenisey provided information on "Ethics in Mediation", while Att. Arb. Turgay Bilge addressed "Negotiation and Party Representation in Mediation". Att. Arb. İhsan Berkhan gave a presentation on "Attorney-Assisted Settlement". Prof. Dr. Ertan Demirkapı provided information on "Mediation as a Precondition for Litigation", while Att. Arb. Murat Demirkan addressed "Voluntary Mediation".

The second part of the meeting featured an open discussion and Q&A session. Participants were informed in detail about mediation and exchanged ideas with one another.

At the end of the meeting, the COOP collaboration between the BAU Faculty of Law and Ökten Law Firm was officially signed. In addition to mediation trainings planned to be organized jointly in the future for the benefit of students, academics and practitioners, the collaboration opens the door to professional internship opportunities for BAU Faculty of Law students.
