Important Information on the 2022-2023 BAU Graduation Ceremony and Prospective Graduate Lists

Dear Graduates, we are meeting on 23 July at Ülker Sports Arena and Event Hall for the graduation ceremony of our university, which has a deep-rooted history of 56 years, more than 51,000 alumni, and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We are excited and delighted to share with you our graduation ceremony, which we celebrate with great enthusiasm every year. We are confident that the multicultural atmosphere you experienced, the friendships you built and the valuable experiences you gained have contributed to your development as much as the high-quality education you received at our university. • Our graduation ceremony will be held in two sessions. The ceremony for the faculties listed in the first session in the table above starts at 12:00, and the ceremony for the faculties listed in the second session starts at 19:00.
• Each graduate may invite a maximum of 4 guests to the Graduation Ceremony.
• Graduates must be at the "Student Gathering Area" at Ülker Arena two hours before the ceremony begins.
• The Ülker Arena parking lot has a capacity of 800 vehicles. To avoid delays to the ceremony and congestion in the parking lot and traffic, our guests should use the nearby roads and parking areas. Alternative transportation options are listed below. Since our graduation ceremony consists of two sessions, guests must vacate the parking lot promptly after the first session ends so that the second session can begin smoothly.

  How to Get to Ülker Sports Arena Transportation Options from the Anatolian Side

• From Kadıköy Rıhtım , take thegreen-topped minibusesor bus number8A and get off at theLeylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

• From Beşiktaş, take the ferry to Kadıköy, then take the Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro and get off at Yenisahra station. Then take bus number 8A from the bus stop at the shopping mall exit of the metro and get off at the Leylak Sokak stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Üsküdar,take bus, 16A,, 320A,, 16F or16U and get off at Uzunçayır, then take thegreen-topped minibuses to Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Ümraniye,take bus number 13andget off at the Ataşehir Emniyet stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

Transportation Options from the European Side

• If you are coming from Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler, take Metrobus line 34AS,get off at the Uzunçayır stop and take thegreen-topped minibuses to Ülker Sports Arena.
• If you are coming from Esenler, Bayrampaşa , take the Yenikapı-Airportmetro,get off at Merter station and transfer to Metrobus line 34AS,then get off at the Uzunçayır stop andtake the green-topped minibuses to Ülker Sports Arena.
• If you are coming from Bağcılar, Güngören, take the Kabataş-Bağcılartram line, get off at Zeytinburnu and transfer toMetrobus line 34AS ,then take the green-topped minibuses to Ülker Sports Arena.
• If you are coming from Taksim , take bus 129Tor202and get off at the Yenisahrastop. From there, climb the stairs on the right and walk down toward the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit. From the bus stop at the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit, take bus number8A and get off at the Leylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

  Alternative Parking Near Ülker Sports Arena Palladium Shopping Mall Parking Lot, Barbaros, 34746 Ataşehir/Istanbul

• There will be a photo area at Ülker Arena. After guests and students have their photos taken here, students will proceed to the "Student Gathering Area", and guests will be directed to the east and west entrances.
• Wearing a cap and gown is mandatory at the graduation ceremony. The gown rental/purchase office will be open in classroom B203 between 04.07.2023 and 22.07.2023, 10:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:30; the office will be closed on Sundays .
• Graduates who wish to rent a cap and gown must deposit the rental fee of 600 TLto the bank IBAN numbers below, making sure to include their student number / full name in the payment description. After payment, the cap and gown can be rented or purchased by presenting the receipt to the staff at the office.
• Graduates who will attend the Graduation Ceremony must register on the UMIS screen. The names of graduates who do not register on this list will not be read during the ceremony. The registration deadline is 19 July 2023, 15:00 .
• After the graduation ceremony, students who wish to return their caps and gowns must, between 24.07.2023 and 19.08.2023, 10:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:30, return the cap and gown in full and fill out the "Return Form" . The refunds will be made to the IBAN number graduates provide on the "Return Form" . If the person who rented the cap and gown returns it, they must request the refund with the details used for the rental. The rental fee must be paid by the person renting. If two or more fees are paid from one IBAN, only one refund will be made. A graduate may collect a cap and gown on behalf of another graduate; however, the fee must be paid by the graduate themselves and the receipt must be given to the person collecting it on their behalf.

Note: Cap and gown rental and return transactions will be made by EFT/wire transfer to the bank account numbers; no delivery or refund will be made in cash.

• Before the graduation ceremony, all of our students' posts, their feelings and thoughts about graduation, photos and videos will be shared on the gradmemory.bau.edu.tr website. As of 10 July, content from our students with the designated hashtags will be published.
• The participation criteria for the graduation ceremony are as follows. If you think you meet the participation criteria and your name is not on the list, you should apply to your faculty secretariat. Once the faculty secretariat forwards the eligibility information to the relevant unit, you will be added to the graduate lists and can then obtain a cap and gown.

  2022-2023 GRADUATION CEREMONY PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Associate Degree:

• Students enrolled at SHMYO who started their associate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year or later and have a maximum of 10 credits remaining after taking their 2022-2023 spring semester courses
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester

• Students who enrolled in a major program in the 2018-2019 academic year or later and have a maximum of 10 credits remaining after taking their 2022-2023 spring semester courses
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester
