BAU Anthropometry Laboratory

It is a laboratory where students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics can practice, equipped with all the necessary tools such as a BIA device for measuring body composition, a stadiometer and calipers.

Through practical sessions with our faculty members in the laboratory, it aims to give us competence in measuring the height of adults and children, measuring and evaluating body fat and muscle mass with a bioelectrical impedance analyzer, measuring skinfold thickness, and measuring waist and hip circumference. It is located on the 5th floor of the North Campus.

Biomechanics and Chiropractic Laboratory

In this laboratory, the improvement of physical functions (e.g., conditions such as paralysis), musculoskeletal health, the prevention of sports injuries and, in particular, the mechanical properties of bone structure are studied, and the production of biocompatible implants for fractures and cracks due to bone loss has begun. The devices required for these processes include 3D scanners, 3D printers, a biomechanical testing device and various small handheld devices.

The chiropractic laboratory is designed for use not only by us as undergraduate students but also by graduate students, and it allows the biomechanical measurements required for thesis studies to be carried out.

Virtual Reality Laboratory

This laboratory has 1 treatment bed and 1 Fizyosoft device. By replacing stimuli in the physical world (light, sound, touch, taste and smell) with computer-generated senses, the Virtual Reality Laboratory allows us to be exposed to stimuli similar to real-world experiences.

In the Virtual Reality Laboratory, we gain knowledge about rehabilitation applications and have the opportunity to practice them.

Nursing Laboratory

The laboratory has 1 simulation mannequin, 2 full-body mannequins, 2 real patient beds, 2 bedside monitors, and all interventional and care-related supplies in sufficient quantity for the number of students. It teaches us, as nursing students, nursing care with the latest technological tools. It aims to prepare us for the real clinical environment.

Medical Laboratory Techniques Laboratory

In this laboratory, we receive training on how to use the devices found in the medical laboratories of hospitals, laboratories and clinics. It also aims to give us competencies such as ensuring that patient results are obtained accurately, clearly and reliably in the shortest time.
