No BAU Student Should Miss the Trip to Cannes!
The collaboration between Bahçeşehir University and Cannes Short Film Corner continues to grow stronger. As every year, short films by BAU Cinema and TV students are being screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner this year as well. Exclusively this year, there is also the opportunity to attend the "Cannes Short Film Corner: Short Film Industry" workshop, organized by international film professionals and open only to BAU Cinema and TV students.
The Cannes Film Festival, one of the world's most prestigious film festivals, will be held this year from 12 to 16 July. Bringing together renowned directors, actors and the year's standout works, the festival also hosts the Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner, which aims to recognize new talents, connect them with the industry and give them the opportunity to present their first works.
The Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Communication Department of Cinema and Television, which takes part in the event so that its students' works can be featured at this gathering, one of the most important events in world cinema, and so that students can get to know international projects and film industry representatives closely, is once again participating this year with student projects.
The selection process organized exclusively for our University's students has begun for the Cannes Short Film Corner, first launched in 2004 as a way to recognize short filmmakers in the belief that they are promising as the next generation of feature filmmakers, offer these talents networking opportunities and provide official access to the Cannes Film Festival and its market. Those who wish to apply to this important call, in which a limited number of films will meet leading representatives of the world film industry, can share their projects with the BAU Department of Cinema and Televisionvia the page at the link. We wish all our students taking part in this process success and an inspiring period of production.
Deadline: 12 June 2021
Event Dates: 12-16 July 2021
Note: The workshop has limited capacity. Only applications from our Cinema and TV Department and Apply BAU students will be evaluated, and participants will be selected within the capacity.
