Optical Communication System Exported to Ukraine Through STM-BAU Collaboration

The innovative optical communication system developed and manufactured through the collaboration between STM and Bahçeşehir University will be exported to Ukraine. Developed thanks to the collaboration between Bahçeşehir University and STM that has continued since around 2012, this system not only enables domestic production but also contributes to our country's development through sales and marketing activities abroad.

Speaking at the session "An Overview of Submarine and Surface Platform Construction/Modernization Capabilities and Objectives," held as part of the 10th Naval Systems Seminar, STM Combat Systems Group Manager Enver KÜÇÜKERMAN provided information on ongoing projects.

Küçükerman stated that the innovative optical communication system developed and manufactured through the collaboration between STM and Bahçeşehir University will be exported to Ukraine.

The licensing agreement process between Bahçeşehir University and STM had been successfully completed to enable the sales/marketing of 3 innovative optical systems developed thanks to the collaboration between the two institutions since around 2012. Within the scope of commercialization, the systems whose license rights were acquired are the Underwater Optical Diver Communication System (CoDiver), the Surface Optical Communication System (CoLink) and the Underwater Illumination System (CoLight).

Optical Communication Systems provide communication that cannot be detected, intercepted or jammed, between divers/SAT teams and between divers/SAT teams and submarines underwater, and between surface vessels on the surface.
