Attention candidates without a foreign language result document: Candidates applying to programs taught in English who do not have a current score from theYDS-YÖKDİL or TOEFLexams may take the BAU Proficiency exam held by our University. To register for the exam, candidates must answer "Yes" to the question "Will you take the exam?" on the application screen, and then follow the current language exam announcements on the Announcements and News page and complete the announced registration steps.Candidates who do not complete their exam registration will not be admitted to the exam. **If an international foreign language exam such as TOEFL IBT or PTE Academicis taken in Türkiye, the exam must be held in buildings belonging to state universities (according to Article 6, Paragraph 3, Subparagraph d of the ÖSYM Directive on Determining the Equivalence of Foreign Language Exams). "Home edition" versions of external exam documents will not be accepted for English language exemption.

General minimum requirements for candidates applying to PhD programs:
- A minimum ALES score of 60 in the relevant score type (the relevant score type for each program is specified below) or an equivalent score,
- Holding a Master's degree with thesis,
- For programs whose language of instruction is English, language scores of YDS - YÖKDİL: 65, TOEFL: 79, PTE: 67 are required.
- NOTE: For the English Language Teaching program: YDS: 80, YÖKDİL: 80, TOEFL: 96
- NOTE: For the Mathematics Education (TR) program: YDS: 65, YÖKDİL: 65, TOEFL: 79
- For programs whose language of instruction is Turkish, language scores of YDS - YÖKDİL: 55, TOEFL: 66, PTE: 50 are required.
**If an international foreign language exam such as TOEFL IBT or PTE Academicis taken in Türkiye, the exammust be held in buildings belonging to state universities.(According to Article 6, Paragraph 3, Subparagraph d of the ÖSYM Directive on Determining the Equivalence of Foreign Language Exams.)
