SOBİD Project Workshop

The outcomes of the SOBİD project titled "Design and Implementation of a Climate Change Teaching Module through a Socioscientific Issues-Based Teaching Approach," supported by the TÜBİTAK 3501 Career Development Program, were shared at a workshop held on 31 May 2025.

Science and social studies teachers from Uğur Schools Bakırköy Campus, together with Campus Director Elvan Ekinci and earlySTEM&STEM Department Head Gözde Yılmaz, took part in the SOBİD project workshop. In the first session of the workshop, ÖGAM-BAUSTEM Director and SOBİD Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilay Öztürk held a session covering the project process, preliminary findings and outcomes. In the second session, SOBİD Project Researcher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasemin Özdem Yılmaz provided information on the project's unit plan development process. Later in the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilay Öztürk and the teachers evaluated the project unit plans. The workshop concluded with the teachers carrying out practice activities in socioscientific issue contexts for climate change lesson plans.
