“Training of Trainers and Voluntary Counseling and Testing Center Awareness” Program Held with BAU Faculty of Medicine Students

On 15–16 November 2025, a comprehensive training program titled “Training of Trainers for Medical Students and Voluntary Counseling and Testing Center (VCTC) Awareness” was organized within the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine with the participation of our students selected as volunteers.

The program was planned to support medical students in taking a more active role in projects and services that contribute to public health, and to enhance their competencies in areas such as counseling, communication, the basic public health approach and the functioning of testing centers.
 

During the training, our students attended theoretical and practical sessions on:

- the objectives, working principles and social importance of Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centers,

- effective communication, counseling processes and proper referral methods,

- the public health approach, communicable disease awareness and the role of preventive healthcare services,

- practical evaluations based on sample cases encountered in the field,

- presentation techniques, knowledge transfer and group management skills for training of trainers

.

At the end of the program, our students were offered a framework through which they can actively contribute to awareness activities, field events and training chains to be carried out in the coming periods.
