Workshop with Susan Main on the Kristin Linklater Method

The Bahçeşehir University Conservatory hosted Susan Main, one of the official trainers of the Kristin Linklater method, on 15–19 December 2025. Organized for Conservatory students, this five-day workshop offered an intensive, high-quality training process centered on the organic relationship between voice, body and expression.

The work carried out throughout the workshop aimed to enable performing arts students to use their voice production processes more consciously and freely, increase their bodily awareness and deepen their possibilities of expression on stage. Conducted in line with the core principles of the Kristin Linklater method, the practices were shaped around breathing, resonance, the relationship with the text and physical awareness.

Susan Main's disciplined and participant-centered pedagogical approach enabled students to develop both their technical and artistic skills. Through hands-on exercises, participants had the opportunity to discover their voices in bodily unity and create a more effective language of expression on stage.

Held with strong participation and interest, the workshop offered students an inspiring and transformative experience and once again demonstrated the importance our Conservatory attaches to contemporary performing arts education.
