Hands-On Training Course on DBS and VNS Surgery at the Rhoton Laboratory, Hosted by the Faculty of Medicine

Hosted by the Faculty of Medicine, the course is being held at the Rhoton Laboratory with an intensive, hands-on program focusing on advanced neuromodulation surgery. Participants have the opportunity to experience DBS and VNS surgical procedures through station-based practice under the guidance of expert instructors.

Within the scope of the course, the DBS surgical workflow is addressed in a hands-on manner using different stereotactic systems and device platforms. Participants have the opportunity to work with Medtronic, Abbott and Boston Scientific technologies, while VNS surgical techniques and dissection training are carried out on LivaNova systems. In addition, a free cadaver workspace with the Elekta Vantage Frame is made available to participants.

Covering cadaver dissection, surgical planning and practical applications in station sessions held between 08:30 and 14:30, the program provides participants with a realistic learning environment and aims to offer an intensive, interactive training experience in which theoretical knowledge is put into practice.
