PUBG MOBILE Launches Game Design Course at Bahçeşehir University
PUBG MOBILE and Bahçeşehir University have launched the first credit-bearing university course built around World of Wonder (WOW) Editor Pro. As part of the program, students will develop their own game maps, while a dedicated $200,000 fund has also been established to support successful students in launching their ventures in the gaming industry.
PUBG MOBILE has introduced a new game design course into the university curriculum through its partnership with Bahçeşehir University (BAU). Offered under the BAU CO-OP Branded Courses program, the “PUBG MOBILE Game Design Practices” course began in the fall semester of the 2026–2027 academic year at the university's Galata Campus in Istanbul. Launched under PUBG MOBILE's Campus Squad student program, the course has 24 students enrolled and will run for 12 weeks. As part of the university's official curriculum, the credit-bearing, graded course will enable students to design their own game maps using PUBG
MOBILE's game development platform, World of Wonder (WOW).
Students Will Design and Publish Their Own Games
Offered under the course code COP4346, the program aims to provide hands-on game development experience not only to students studying game design but also to those from other departments. Throughout the course, students will learn how to develop a game concept, turn it into a playable experience, and improve it based on player feedback.
The program aims for each student to develop at least three game maps. Students will use WOW Editor Pro, PUBG MOBILE's PC-based game development tool. With AI-powered features, visual programming tools, and a library of ready-made assets, students will be able to create maps across different genres, from competitive games to parkour and PvE modes.
The maps developed by students can be published on the WOW platform. According to data shared by PUBG MOBILE, maps on the platform have been played more than 40 billion times to date. Students will also have the opportunity to make their creations available to players, collect feedback, and further develop their projects. Their published maps will serve as portfolio pieces they can use when applying for opportunities in the gaming industry.
PUBG MOBILE's Development Team Will Participate in Classes
Classes will be taught by game designers and publishing specialists from PUBG MOBILE's development team. Students will therefore not only learn how to use game development tools but also gain firsthand insights from industry professionals into the design and operational processes behind a game serving millions of players.
As part of the program, a workshop featuring leading WOW content creators from Türkiye will also be organized. Students will be invited to the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) Grand Finals and have the opportunity to attend the WOW Summit.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güven Çatak, Head of the Digital Game Design Department at Bahçeşehir University, commented on the partnership:
“Incorporating PUBG MOBILE's game development tools into a credit-bearing university course offers our students a new opportunity to combine their interest in games with hands-on design work. Over these twelve weeks, we want our students to develop their ideas, test their design decisions, and create better gaming experiences based on the feedback they receive. Our goal is to help them build the confidence and skills they need to continue creating beyond the classroom.”
An opportunity for students to establish their own game studios
PUBG MOBILE also offers a USD 200,000 support fund to support entrepreneurial initiatives in game development. The fund is not limited to course participants and is open to all game studios that meet the application requirements.
As part of the course, students will be able to continue developing the maps they create within the WOW ecosystem, establish their own game studios with support and guidance from PUBG MOBILE, and apply for the fund if they meet the eligibility criteria. The aim is to help students turn the experience they gain during the course into professional game development projects.
