From Tissue Mechanics to Personalized Radiotherapy: Acoustic and Optical Fingerprinting of Biological Systems
Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine organized a special conference focusing on current developments in biomedical engineering and health technologies.
The conference was delivered by Dr. İrem Demirkan, who presented on the characterization of biological systems using acoustic and optical methods. The presentation covered the fundamental principles of tissue mechanics, innovative approaches used to determine the physical properties of biological tissues, advanced imaging and measurement technologies, and current research on personalized radiotherapy applications.
Acoustic and optical characterization methods enable the non-invasive investigation of the structural and functional properties of biological tissues, offering significant opportunities for early diagnosis, treatment planning, and personalized healthcare applications.
