“The 5th Intern Symposium: On the Threshold of Medicine” was held between April 1–4, 2026, hosted by Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi. Organized under the theme “Sapere Aude” (Dare to Know), the symposium was planned as an event open to all medical students across Türkiye, free of charge and with limited capacity; it aimed to bring together future intern physicians around clinical practice, emergency approaches, and professional development. The symposium’s workshops were supported by professional trainers from Bee Akademi, while catering services and the Alumni Pilaf Day event were provided with the contributions of Medical Park Göztepe Hastanesi.
The four-day program included hands-on workshops, case-based theoretical sessions, and experience-sharing with graduated physicians. Participants took an active role in limited-capacity workshops such as basic and advanced life support, ECG and radiograph interpretation, as well as suturing and splinting applications; they also had the opportunity to reinforce their clinical knowledge through sessions focusing on current topics in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics.
While an intensive academic program was conducted during the first three days of the symposium, the final day brought students together with graduated physicians through alumni sessions, TUS (Medical Specialty Exam) experience sharing, and social events. The program concluded with selected student scientific presentations and a closing evaluation.
The program was held at the Göztepe Campus of Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, where students preparing to step into the medical profession came together for this informative and experience-rich gathering.
