Hosted by Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi and organized by TUSYAD - Türkiye Spor Yaralanmaları Artroskopi ve Diz Cerrahisi Derneği, the Basic Arthroscopic Motor Skills Development Course commenced on Friday, February 13, 2026. The first day of the course, designed for orthopedic and traumatology physicians seeking specialization in sports injuries and knee surgery, is being held with strong participation.
The program began with opening remarks and an introduction to the course, followed by theoretical lectures covering indications for knee arthroscopy, operating room setup and surgical instruments, and arthroscopic anatomy of the knee.
Later in the day, participants are attending hands-on training sessions in small groups, focusing on:
- Motor skills instrumentation
- Basic knot-tying techniques
- Arthroscopy practice on bovine knees
In the afternoon sessions, key clinical topics are addressed, including the management of meniscal lesions, arthroscopic treatment of cartilage defects, synovial pathologies, and complications in knee arthroscopy. Conducted under the guidance of experienced instructors, the course aims to enhance participants’ fundamental motor skills in arthroscopic surgery.
On the second day, the program will begin with a presentation on arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, followed by case discussions on meniscal, cartilage, and anterior cruciate ligament injuries. The training program will conclude with practical station workshops held throughout the day.
