Hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and held at the Rhoton Laboratory, this intensive, hands-on program focuses on advanced neuromodulation surgery. Participants gain the opportunity to experience DBS and VNS surgical workflows through station-based practical sessions under the guidance of expert instructors.
Within the scope of the course, the DBS surgical workflow is addressed through practical training using different stereotactic systems and device platforms. Participants work with technologies from Medtronic, Abbott, and Boston Scientific, while VNS surgical techniques and dissection training are conducted using LivaNova systems. In addition, a free cadaver study area equipped with the Elekta Vantage Frame is made available to participants.
The station sessions, running from 08:30 to 14:30, include cadaver dissection, surgical planning, and practical applications, providing participants with a realistic learning environment. The program aims to deliver an intensive and interactive educational experience where theoretical knowledge is effectively translated into clinical practice.
