With the contributions of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Law, together with BAU International University Batumi Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, a two-stage preparatory program will be organized ahead of the Medical Law Symposium to be held on April 10–11, 2026.
In this context, the first session will be conducted online on Thursday, January 22, 2026, between 20:00 and 22:00. Titled “Medical Law: Responsibilities of Healthcare Professionals,” the program will feature expert academics and will offer important evaluations on health law, physicians’ responsibilities, and medical ethics.
The program will begin with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Adnan Kaya, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Bahçeşehir University; Prof. Dr. Selçuk Basa, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Dr. Maka Buleishvili, Dean of the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry at BAU International University Batumi; and Prof. Dr. Kadir Emre Gökyayla.
Within the scope of the program:
- Dr. Salih Oktar will address the fundamentals of physicians’ criminal and legal liability,
- Prof. Dr. Mahmut Aşırdizer will discuss forensic medicine support in the resolution of legal disputes,
- Prof. Dr. Feridun Yenisey and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Timuçin Avşar will examine molecular genetic analyses conducted on samples obtained from physical examinations,
- Prof. Dr. Kadircan Keskinbora will present the historical development of medical ethics and major ethical regulations throughout history.
The second stage of the symposium preparation process will be held face-to-face on February 26, 2026, in the BAU Faculty of Law Courtroom, in the form of case analyses.
