During the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Şenay Yalçın, the rector of BAU, made a speech and stated that the opening of the BFRC was a significant step for capital markets. She explained that the center was opened to prepare students for finance and capital markets and to provide them with an environment to gain experience. The center aims to raise the education standards higher by supporting theoretical education with practical experience and providing a qualified labor force for finance markets. Yalçın emphasized that students’ risk management, knowledge, skills, and abilities would be developed thanks to the financial and academic research sources at the center.
The BFRC will make academic support for projects aimed at making Istanbul a finance center and industry professionals will lecture at the center. In addition, studies will be carried out to raise qualified human resources for the finance sector. The center, founded within the body of the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, provides instant data transfer with domestic and international markets and conducts analysis using Bloomberg and Matrix data terminals.
The BFRC will analyze both national and international macroeconomic data, inform the finance sector about the latest status of world markets, and publish bulletins. Research on the course of markets will be presented to shareholders via monthly bulletins. The center aims to contribute to finance market researches thanks to its strong infrastructure and Bloomberg and Matrix terminals.
The center also aims to share the analyses that will direct the finance market by providing data, analyses, reports, and economic expectation indexes required by the economy and finance sector. This way, both national and international finance markets will benefit from the analyses of the center.
