The Black Sea Animation Workshop 2025 returns this year, taking place 25–29 November in Sofia, Bulgaria. This intensive development program will bring together emerging animation filmmakers from across the Black Sea region, with Moldova joining as guest country in 2025.
Who can apply?
Filmmakers based in Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Türkiye, and this year also Moldova.
What’s in it for participants?
Over five days of mentorship and development, selected filmmakers will:
Work closely with leading French mentors Corinne Destombes and Olivier Catherin, alongside other international experts.
Present their projects in a public pitching session to industry professionals and audiences.
Compete for awards including:
• Residencies in France
• Participation in SYAA (Romania)
• Selection for Animation Forum (Czech Republic)
• A chance to pitch at MIFA 2026 in Annecy (CITIA – Image et Industries Créatives).
