In collaboration with Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine and the Sancaktepe Community Mental Health Center, a meaningful event was held with the aim of combating stigma in the field of mental health.
Under the supervision of BAU Faculty of Medicine faculty member Prof. Dr. Özge Karadağ, the event was organized by students from the “DaVinci” Club, with the participation of specialists and service users from the Sancaktepe Community Mental Health Center, along with BAU medical students and academic staff. The program addressed the psychosocial impacts of stigma on individuals, as well as the importance of preventing stigma and promoting community-based mental health services.
Following the panel session, a musical and poetry performance prepared by the service users was held, aiming to raise awareness both among healthcare professionals and, through them, within the wider community.
