Bahçeşehir University, under the leadership of BAU Conservatory, celebrated World Pianists' Day on 6 December with a magnificent event honoured by Gülsin Onay, State Artist and Academic Advisor of our Conservatory. This special night, which took place in Conference Hall B at Beşiktaş South Campus, gave music lovers moments full of emotion. The event, which was open to all pianists without age restrictions, was an inspiring meeting point for art lovers.
Gülsin Onay, who made the opening speech of the event, emphasised the meaning of piano art in human history and the unifying power of music. "As pianists, we do not just play notes; we are the bearers of a culture, an emotion and even a story. World Pianists' Day is a celebration of this unique art and the connections it creates," said Onay, noting that it was through her that this day was first celebrated in Turkey.
In the music feast that started after Gülsin Onay's meaningful speech, the guests who filled the hall had the opportunity to experience the emotional depth of music in each piece. Bahçeşehir University brought art and music lovers together by hosting World Pianists' Day in this unforgettable event that lasted all day with 71 participants, and once again demonstrated the unifying and inspiring power of art in society."
