Shrikant Rao (tabla) and Shipra Dhawan (sitar), important musicians of Indian music, met with our conservatory students and academicians at the BAU Conservatory for a seminar entitled Introduction to Hindustani Music: Tabla and Sitar Workshop with the students of the Conservatory and the Academicians. In this training, which offers a very comprehensive content on the deep meanings and practices of Indian music, participants also had the opportunity to perform the tabla and sitar instruments. In the event where ideas were exchanged on the interaction of Indian and Turkish music in the context of world music, it was observed that our students were very interested in world music. The artists, who received information from our academicians about our education and training processes, expressed that they were very happy with the interest of our students.
