Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru BİNGÖL works in the Department of Architecture at Iskenderun Technical University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (Ankara University, 2001), a Master’s degree in Urban Design (METU, 2006), and a PhD in Architecture (IYTE, 2017). During her PhD, she was a visiting researcher at Delft University of Technology (TUDelft), supported by a TÜBİTAK scholarship. Between February 2022 - February 2023, she completed her postdoctoral research in the field of urban morphology at Oxford Brookes University in the UK, again supported by a TÜBİTAK scholarship. She has won awards in national competitions and has been a consultant for urban design projects of various municipalities and UNDP. With a 2020 grant from Space for Culture, she led the project Flow Tales: Re-Membering Antakya’s River Landscape and edited the multidisciplinary book “Tale of A River City: Reading Urban Histories of Antakya Through Asi River”. Her research interests include post-World War II architectural and urban theories, urban design, city, site, and context.
