Important Information about the 2023-2024 BAU Graduation Ceremony and Prospective Graduate Lists

We are meeting on 14 July at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall for the graduation ceremony of our university, which has a deep-rooted history of 56 years and more than 56 thousand graduates. We are excited and happy to share with you our graduation ceremony, which we celebrate with enthusiasm every year...

We are confident that, in addition to the quality education you received at our university, the multicultural atmosphere you experienced, the friendships you built, and the valuable experiences you gained have helped you grow. • Our graduation ceremony will take place in two sessions. The ceremony for the faculties listed in the first session in the table above starts at 14:00, and the ceremony for the faculties listed in the second session starts at 19:00.
• Guests of our graduates for the Graduation Ceremony are limited to 5 people.
• Our graduates must be at the "Student Assembly Area" of the Ülker Sports and Event Hall one hour before the ceremony begins.
• The Ülker Arena parking lot has a capacity of 800 vehicles. To avoid delays to the ceremony and congestion in the parking lot and traffic, our guests may use the nearby roads and parking lots. Alternative transportation options are listed below. As our graduation ceremony consists of two sessions, the parking lot must be vacated quickly by our guests after the first session ends so that the second session can start smoothly.

 

How to Get to Ülker Sports Arena?

Transportation Options from the Anatolian Side

• From Kadıköy Rıhtım, take the departinggreen-topped minibusesor take bus8A and get off atLeylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Beşiktaş, you can take the ferry to Kadıköy, use the Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, and get off at Yenisahra Metro station. Then, take bus 8A from the bus stop at the shopping mall exit of the metro station and get off at Leylak Sokak stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Üsküdar, take buses 16A, 320A, 16F, 16Uand get off at Uzunçayır, then take thegreen-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Ümraniye, take bus 13and get off atAtaşehir Emniyet stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

 

Transportation Options from the European Side

• Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, BahçelievlerIf you are coming from these districts, take the 34AS Metrobusandget off at Uzunçayırstop, then take thegreen-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• Esenler, Bayrampaşa If you are coming from these districts, take the Yenikapı-Airportmetro line, get off atMerter stop, and transfer to the 34ASMetrobus; get off at Uzunçayır stop ,then take the green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• Bağcılar, GüngörenIf you are coming from these districts, take the Kabataş-Bağcılartram line, get off at Zeytinburnu stop, and transfer to the34AS Metrobus; then take the green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Taksim , take bus 129Tor202and get off at Yenisahrastop. From there, climb the stairs on the right and walk down toward the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit. From the bus stop at the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit, take bus8A and get off at Leylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

Alternative Parking Near Ülker Sports Arena (Palladium Mall Parking, Barbaros, 34746 Ataşehir/Istanbul)

• There will be a photo area at Ülker Arena. After guests and graduates have their photos taken here, graduates will proceed to the "Student Assembly Area," and guests will be directed to the east and west entrances.
• Attending the graduation ceremony in cap and gown is mandatory. The gown rental/purchase office will serve in classroom B203 between 01.07.2024 - 13.07.2024 , during the hours of10:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:30 ; the office will be closed on Sundays .
• Graduates who wish to rent a cap and gown must deposit the rental fee of 1200 TLto the bank IBAN below, with the description student number/name and surname . After payment, the cap and gown can be rented or purchased by presenting the receipt to the staff at the office. A graduate may collect a cap and gown on behalf of another graduate; however, the specified amount must be paid by the graduate themselves, who must then pass the receipt to the person collecting on their behalf.
• After the graduation ceremony, students who wish to return their caps and gowns must, between  16.07.2024 - 31.07.2024 , during the hours of 10:30-12:30/13:30-18:30 , return their cap and gown complete and fill out the "Return Form" . Refunds will be made to the IBAN that graduates provide on the "Return Form." If two or more fees are paid from one IBAN, only one refund will be made. The refund for caps and gowns returned after the Graduation Ceremony will be 700 TL . Students who wish to return their cap and gown must do so with their receipt.

Note: Cap and gown rental and return transactions will be made by EFT/wire transfer to bank accounts; no delivery or refund will be made in cash.

• The participation criteria for the graduation ceremony are as follows. If you believe you meet the participation criteria and your name is not on the lists, you must apply to your faculty secretariat. After the faculty secretariat forwards the eligibility information to the Organization unit, additions will be made to the graduate lists, and graduates will then be able to obtain a cap and gown.

 

2023-2024 GRADUATION CEREMONY PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Associate Degree;

• Students registered at SHMYOwho started associate degree studies in the 2021-2022 academic year or later and who, after taking their 2023-2024 spring semester courses, have at most 10 credits remaining
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester

Undergraduate;

• Students who enrolled in a major program in the 2019-2020 Academic Year or later and who, after taking their 2023-2024 spring semester courses, have at most 10 credits remaining
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester

Graduate;

• In Programs with Project;
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester
• Students who have registered for the Project course and have no remaining credits
• In Programs with Thesis;
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester
• Students who have registered for the Thesis II course and have no remaining credits
