This year’s graduation ceremony will take place at the Ülker Sports Arena and Event Centre on July 14th as we commemorate our university’s 56-year rich history, over 56 thousand graduates. We are thrilled and excited to share with you this event that we celebrate every year with elation.

Graduation Ceremony Details

Our graduation ceremony will take place in two sessions. The start time for faculties listed in the first session is 2:00 PM, and for those in the second session, it is 7:00 PM.
Graduates can invite up to 5 guests each.
Graduates must be at the "Student Gathering Area" in the Ülker Sports and Event Hall one hour before the ceremony begins.
The parking capacity at Ülker Sports and Event Hall and Event Hall is 800 vehicles. To avoid delays, congestion, and traffic, guests can use nearby streets and parking lots. Alternative transportation options are provided below. As the ceremony consists of two sessions, the parking area must be vacated promptly after the first session to ensure a smooth start for the second session.

How to Reach Ülker Sports and Event Hall?

Transportation Options from the Anatolian Side

From Kadıköy Pier: Take a green-topped minibus or bus number 8A, and get off at Leylak Sokak stop to reach Ülker Sports and Event Hall.
From Beşiktaş: Take a ferry to Kadıköy, then the Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, and get off at Yenisahra Metro stop. From the shopping mall exit, take bus number 8A and get off at Leylak Sokak stop.
From Üsküdar: Take buses 16A, 320A, 16F, or 16U, get off at Uzunçayır, and take a green-topped minibus to Ülker Sports Arena.
From Ümraniye: Take bus number 13, get off at Ataşehir Emniyet stop, and walk to Ülker Sports Arena.

Transportation Options from the European Side

From Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler: Take Metrobus number 34AS, get off at Uzunçayır, and take a green-topped minibus to Ülker Sports Arena.
From Esenler, Bayrampaşa: Take the Yenikapı-Airport Metro, get off at Merter stop, transfer to Metrobus number 34AS, get off at Uzunçayır, and take a green-topped minibus.
From Bağcılar, Güngören: Take the Kabataş-Bağcılar tramway, get off at Zeytinburnu stop, transfer to Metrobus number 34AS, and take a green-topped minibus.
From Taksim: Take bus number 129T or 202, get off at Yenisahra stop, then walk to the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit. Take bus number 8A from the bus stop there and get off at Leylak Sokak stop.

Alternative Parking Near Ülker Sports and Event Hall(Palladium Shopping Mall Parking Lot, Barbaros, 34746 Ataşehir/Istanbul)

A photo area will be set up at Ülker Sports and Event Hall. Guests and graduates can take photos here before graduates proceed to the "Student Gathering Area" and guests are directed to the east and west entrances.
Graduates must attend the ceremony wearing a cap and gown. The cap and gown rental/purchase office will be open from July 1 to July 13, 2024, between 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM, excluding Sundays, in room B203.
Graduates wishing to rent a cap and gown must transfer the rental fee of 1200 TL to the bank IBAN number provided below, including their student number and full name in the payment details. The receipt must be shown to the staff at the office to complete the rental or purchase.
After the ceremony, graduates wishing to return their cap and gown can do so from July 16 to July 31, 2024, between 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM, by filling out a "Return Form." The return fee of 700 TL will be refunded to the IBAN specified in the form. Only one refund per IBAN will be made. Students who want to return caps and gowns must return them with a receipt.

Note: Cap and gown rental and return transactions must be done via bank transfer; cash transactions will not be accepted.

Graduates must meet the following criteria. If you believe you meet the criteria but are not listed, please contact your faculty secretary. After verifying eligibility, your name will be added to the graduation list, and you can then obtain your cap and gown.

Participation Criteria for the 2023-2024 Graduation Ceremony

Associate Degree:

Students enrolled in SHMYO from the 2021-2022 academic year onward and have no more than 10 credits left after completing the Spring 2023-2024 semester.
Students who graduated at the end of the Fall 2023-2024 academic year.

Bachelor’s Degree:

Students enrolled in a major program from the 2019-2020 academic year onward and have no more than 10 credits left after completing the Spring 2023-2024 semester.
Students who graduated at the end of the Fall 2023-2024 academic year.

Graduate Degree:

Project-Based Programs:

Students who graduated at the end of the Fall 2023-2024 academic year.
Students who have completed their project course and have no remaining credits.

Thesis-Based Programs:

Students who graduated at the end of the Fall 2023-2024 academic year.
Students who have completed Thesis II and have no remaining credits.
