Next Monday, December 4, ArchiDesign Timber Talks '23-24 will be hosting Erol Karacabeyli.
Erol Karacabeyli, after graduating from Istanbul Technical University as a civil engineer, he received two master's degrees from Yildiz Technical University and the University of British Columbia, Canada.
With more than thirty-five years of research and development experience in wood structures, Karacabeyli has served in the Earthquake Commissions of both Canada and the United States, served as the Chairman of the Timber Structures Technical Committee of the International Standards Organization for 10 years, and served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. Karacabeyli has more than 200 publications on timber engineering and many awards given to him in the USA and Canada. The Wood Building Systems Group of the FPInnovations research center, of which Karacabeyli was the director until 2015, has published numerous multi-disciplinary handbooks on wood structures.
Karacabeyli, who has close relations with the wood world in many countries, has twice served as the president of the Turkish-Canadian Society in Vancouver, Canada.
