Important Information on the 2022-2023 BAU Graduation Ceremony and Prospective Graduate Lists

Dear Graduates, we are meeting on 23 July at Ülker Sports Arena and Event Hall for the graduation ceremony of our university, which has a 56-year legacy, more than 51,000 alumni, and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. We are excited and happy to share with you our graduation ceremony, which we celebrate with enthusiasm every year… We are sure that, as much as the quality education you received at our University, the multicultural atmosphere you experienced, the wonderful friendships you formed, and the valuable experiences you gained have helped you grow. • Our graduation ceremony will be held in two sessions. The ceremony for the faculties listed in the first session in the table above starts at 12:00, and for the faculties listed in the second session at 19:00.
• The graduation ceremony for doctoral graduates will be announced later.
• Each graduate may bring a maximum of 4 guests to the Graduation Ceremony.
• Graduates must be at the "Student Gathering Area" at Ülker Arena two hours before the ceremony starts.
• The Ülker Arena parking lot has a capacity of 800 vehicles. To avoid delays to the ceremony and congestion in the parking lot and traffic, our guests should use the surrounding roads and parking areas. Alternative transportation options are listed below. Since our graduation ceremony will be held in two sessions, the parking lot must be vacated quickly by our guests after the first session ends so that the second session can start smoothly.

  How to Get to Ülker Sports Arena? Transportation Options from the Anatolian Side

• From Kadıköy Rıhtım, you can takethe green-topped minibusesorbus number 8A and get off at the Leylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

• From Beşiktaş, you can take the ferry to Kadıköy, use the Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, and get off at Yenisahra Metro station. Then take bus number 8A from the bus stop at the shopping mall exit of the metro and get off at the Leylak Sokak stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Üsküdar,you can take buses number 16A,, 320A, 16F, 16Uand get off at Uzunçayır, then takethe green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• From Ümraniye,you can take bus number 13and get off at the Ataşehir Emniyet stop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

Transportation Options from the European Side

• Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, BahçelievlerIf you are coming from these areas, you can take the 34AS Metrobusand get off at the Uzunçayır stop, then takethe green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• Esenler, Bayrampaşa If you are coming from these areas, take the Yenikapı-Airportmetro,get off at Merter, transfer to the 34ASMetrobus, get off at the Uzunçayır stop, andtake the green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• Bağcılar, GüngörenIf you are coming from these areas, take the Kabataş-Bağcılartram line, get off at Zeytinburnu, transfer to the 34AS Metrobus, and take the green-topped minibuses to reach Ülker Sports Arena.
• If you are coming from Taksim, take buses number 129Tor202 and get off at the Yenisahrastop. From there, climb the stairs on the right and walk down toward the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit. From the bus stop at the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro exit, takebus number 8A and get off at the Leylak Sokakstop to reach Ülker Sports Arena.

  Alternative Parking Near Ülker Sports Arena Palladium Shopping Mall Parking, Barbaros, 34746 Ataşehir/Istanbul

• There will be a photo area at Ülker Arena. After our guests and students have their photos taken here, our students will proceed to the "Student Gathering Area," and our guests will be directed to the east and west entrances.
• Attending the graduation ceremony in cap and gown is mandatory. The gown rental/purchase office will serve in room B203 between 04.07.2023 and 22.07.2023, from 10:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:30, and the office will be closed on Sundays and Public Holidays .
• Graduates who wish to rent a cap and gown must deposit the rental fee of 600 TLto the bank IBAN number given below, making sure to include their student number / full name in the description. After payment, cap and gown rental or purchase can be completed by presenting the receipt to the staff at the office.
• To attend the Graduation Ceremony, those graduating in the spring semester must register on the UMIS screen, and those who graduated in the fall semester on the ALUMNI screen. The names of graduates who do not register on this list will not be read out during the ceremony. The registration deadline is 19 July 2023 at 15:00 .
• After the graduation ceremony, students who wish to return their caps and gowns will, between 24.07.2023 and 19.08.2023, from 10:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:30, return their caps and gowns complete and fill in the "Return Form" . The refunds will be made to the IBAN number our graduates specify in the "Return Form" . If the person who rented the cap and gown returns it, they must request the refund with the rental details. The rental fee must be paid by the person renting. If two or more fees are paid from one IBAN, only one refund will be made. A graduate may collect a cap and gown on behalf of another graduate, but the specified amount must be paid by the graduate themselves, who must forward the receipt to the person collecting on their behalf.

Note: Cap and Gown Rental and Return transactions will be made by EFT/wire transfer to the bank account numbers; no deliveries or refunds will be made in cash.

• Before the graduation ceremony, all of our students' posts, their feelings and thoughts about graduation, photos, and videos will be shared on the gradmemory.bau.edu.tr website. Starting from 10 July, content from our students shared with the designated hashtags will be published.
• The participation criteria for the graduation ceremony are as follows. If you think you meet the participation criteria and your name is not on the list, you must apply to your faculty secretariat. After the eligibility information is forwarded by the faculty secretariat to the relevant unit, you will be added to the graduate lists, and graduates will then be able to obtain a cap and gown.

  2022-2023 GRADUATION CEREMONY PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Associate Degree;

• Students enrolled at SHMYO who started associate degree studies in the 2020-2021 academic year or later and who have, after taking the 2022-2023 spring semester courses, a maximum of 10 credits remaining
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester

• Students who enrolled in a major program in the 2018-2019 Academic Year or later and who have, after taking the 2022-2023 spring semester courses, a maximum of 10 credits remaining
• Students who graduated at the end of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Fall Semester
• Faculty of Medicine lists will be announced later.
